You must be familiar with your boards now. There are 2 ports on the board.
1. The communication port (can be used to supply power)
2. Power supply port
There are three types of usb usb ports namely
1. USB A
2. USB B
3.USB C(new entry)
Now coming to the board.
A<number> - analog pins.
the ones with just the numbers are the digital pins.
iIn the Uno the pins 0,1 are used for communication.
The rest are the PWM pins.
Pulse Width Modulation(PWM)
To understand PWM, you have to know about digital signals. Digital means either a HIGH or LOW. i.e. 1 or 0.
The HIGH could be for a certain time and LOW for a certain time.
Varying the time could result in variation in characteristics like brightness of led, speed of motor etc
There is a concept of duty cycle.
its just the percentage of on time.
duty cycle = on time/(total time).
Then there are pins for data logging and for other communication protocols which we'll discuss later
ERRORS
Even the most experienced programmers make mistake that'll piss you off
Usually its the missing " ; " or a change in the case of letters. That result in errors.
lets look at the basic issues
1 The output, input should be in CAPS,
2. The high , low should also be in CAPS.
3. Dont forget the " ;"
4. Connect the cable properly.
5. Set the board name, port number properly.
6. ALWAYS SAVE YOUR PROGRAM.
We'll be looking at a new program in the next post and a little theory too.
